Laser Hair Removal FAQs
Yes, the results are permanent.
As with any procedure, some areas on the face and the body are more sensitive than others. We provide numbing cream the day of the treatment for all our hair removal patients. The numbing cream works well and allows the patient to sit comfortably while the procedure is being performed.
After numbing cream is applied and allowed to sit on the skin for 15-20min, our laser tech will come in and remove the cream and begin the procedure. A bright light flashes at each pulse, and many patients say the treatment feels like a rubber band popping the skin at each pulse. Once the treatment is completed, a soothing lotion is applied to the skin.
All areas are priced per 6 treatments. The cost depends on the area treated. Areas that are larger and require the laser tech more time to complete, cost more money. Smaller areas are less as they require less treatment time. If there is any area you are considering for treatment, please call the office and we can let you know the cost of treatment over the phone for the specific area of concern.
All patients require at least 6 treatments, and sometimes a second package of 6 is required. However, 6 treatments will make a huge difference in the amount of hair growth. Each person is different based on the fact some people have more hair to begin with than others. Your laser hair tech will look at the area of concern, and be able to make a determination of number of treatments per individual.
It is important to come in for a consult. Not every skin type can be treated safely. Darker skinned individuals run a higher risk of hypo and hyperpigmentation than lighter skinned individuals. Certain ethnicities cannot be safely treated, so it is important for your laser tech to look at each person individually as well as answer a list of health history questions prior to treatment. It is also important to note, dark hair tends to be treated easier than lighter hair. Light hair often times does not go completely away after laser hair removal.
